Riaan Bolt Antiques specializes in fine Cape antique furniture & related objects, South African studio ceramics, and modern South African art.

Founded in 2012 by Riaan Bolt and Peter Haller, Riaan Bolt Antiques has become synonymous with fine Cape antique furniture. They strive to discover rare and unusual pieces that add to the existing pool of knowledge in the field.

Their passion for 20 th century South African ceramics is reflected in the essential part these beautiful pieces play in their business. Ceramics by Linnware, Esias Bosch, Tim Morris, and Rorke’s Drift compliment the antique selection, whilst remaining in keeping with the local theme.

Modern South African Art forms the focus of the art section of the business.
Artists represented include Christo Coetzee, Alexis Preller, Edoardo Villa, Lucas Sithole, Ezrom Legae, and Julian Motau. Riaan and Peter pride themselves in sourcing artworks of local historical significance both locally and abroad. By identifying artists that are currently overlooked, and curating public exhibitions of their work, Riaan Bolt Antiques aims to bring these masterpieces back into consciousness and give their creators the recognition they deserve.

The dialogue between old and new is encouraged by the inclusion of works by contemporary artists such as Trevor Coleman, Eric du Plan, Jaco van den Heever, and Noah Maubane.

Since 2020, Riaan Bolt has been the Chief Executive Officer of the South African Antique, Art & Design Association (SAADA).
